Thread: Mice and Mystics:: General:: Why not stick around and explore?

My understanding is there are two general ways to advance the chapter hourglass - 1) having a mouse get captured and 2) having cheese tokens played on the clock.

So, I am wondering why or if the following is a legal strategy: Defeat all the minions on a tile but then do not explore the tile in such a way that it will flip (causing an encounter card is drawn) instead, continue to explore the tile until all of the mice have exactly the items they want from the search deck without the risk of advancing the story hourglass. Then, once the mice are fully equipped and have the powerful items they want move on to the next tile?

Is this legal and since I don't see any drawbacks why wouldn't everyone do this on each tile before going on to the next one?
