Hey players !I am not new to the game. I made 3 start of the campaign a long time ago, but never finished the campaign. Now I'm trying to start a campaign with my girlfriend but after 5 tries, we keep failing the first chapter.
We are not doing rules mistakes - of what I know.
The only mistake we did yesterday (our 5th try) was to add cheese to the wheel when Brody rolls (but it was about 1 or 2 cheese) so it wouldn't have changed the end.
I think our problem is : dice roll. We always have really really bad lucks on the rolls : Filch failed to kill all rats, Elite rats made a lot of 3 successful touches when attacking, a lot of cheese when playing enemies, and too much surge (even on the final tile with the crow).
Each try, we go further than the previous one, but we are almost ready to burn physically the game. Our 5th try yesterday ended like this :
- Colin on the tree entrance square
- Magento and Filch missing all attack to finish the last of the elite rats. So that surge happened with the spider.
- Spider killing Tilda so that the hourglass reached the "End" tracker.
Failing 5 times and the last one just before arriving at the tree pisses us off.
Questions :
- What is the best group composition for chapter 1 ? We use Collin, Tilda, Filch and magento (for ranged attacks with the 1 cheese spell)
- We always search in the water to get the wire and the needle. Is that ok?
- We want to do the kitchen to raise the end by one and get the help of Mizz Maggie. Ok for you?
- We never have enough cheese to "level up". I would want Filch to get the second dagger and the skill to do multiple attacks but it's almost impossible during the first chapter.
What skills do you choose for your party ?
