So my friend tells me: "I got us an appointment"."What kind of appointment?"
"We are going to learn how to paint miniatures!"
Aha.
[He had been talking about painting miniatures for roughly a year and a half. I, being the one with quite a few (easily over a hundred) miniatures had always put it off. I was afraid it was going to be costly, time consuming, difficult etc. I already have enough hobbies as it is.]
I just came back from that appointment. Guy takes about 15 minutes to transform one of my rat minions into, well, a bit of a piece of art. Then he sits me down, hands me a brush and some paint (black, white & metallic, buddy gets red & yellow to paint his Flash Point mini). "You saw me do it, now you try."
Hesitantly I try. And worry. And try more. And gradually stop worrying. And enjoy. And enjoy more. And mess up, but manage to correct. After about an hour (rough estimate, I really never felt any desire to check my watch) I have improved upon the rat and finished, sort of, Nez. I sit back and feel... I don't know what. I am actually quite pleased with how everything turned out. And, more importantly, I had a blast.
So there, painting minis: yet another hobby for yours truly. And I have started worrying again. Obviously the minis rubbing against each other in the box are going to chip their paint. How can I prevent this?
Thanks for your help.
